Scheduled - An update is being pushed to an estimated less than 60 managed MacOS devices to update the version of Foxit PDF Editor that is installed. This is a proactive deployment of the version of Foxit Editor (14.x.x) to fix an upcoming subscription license expiration on 11/28/25. The update will start automatically & silently 11/24/25 9:00 am AKST.

If the Foxit application is open during the update, the users will be prompted: "Please save your work and close Foxit PDF Editor. The update will proceed after you click OK and close the app." The prompt will loop for as long as the application stays running, ensuring that the prompt can not be ignored or data lost due to unforeseen application quitting. Once the application has been safely closed, the currently installed version will be uninstalled, and the new version will be installed. Users will be required to sign back in via SSO.

Identified - Microsoft is discontinuing the M365 A1 Plus license, and some users are being transitioned from the M365 A1 "Plus" license to the M365 A1 license. This results in a loss of access to the desktop version of Office 365 applications, but all users should still be able to use the web-based apps at https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps/ (requires UA login).

This change affects Crafts & Trades staff, Adjunct/Temporary Faculty, and Emeritus Faculty members. If you're not a member of these groups and are experiencing issues with the Microsoft Office suite, please reach out to your campus's IT helpdesk!

Identified - We’ve determined that some new University students, faculty and staff cannot access Microsoft 365 applications upon initial login.

This problem may impact multiple users across the system due to a malfunction in automatic licensing.

We’re working to restore Microsoft 365 automatic licensing however during the interim please contact the Technical Support Center at (907) 786-4646.

Identified - We are aware of an ongoing issue affecting Microsoft A1 Plus licenses. As a result, some users may temporarily lose access to desktop Office applications, especially Adjunct Faculty and Crafts & Trades employees.
However, you can continue to use all Microsoft 365 online apps (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) through your web browser by opening from OneDrive or going to https://m365.cloud.microsoft/create.

Our team is actively working with Microsoft and organizational leadership to identify and implement a long-term solution. We appreciate your patience while this issue is being addressed.

An update will be posted when it is resolved.

Update - The 'Foxit Clean Removal Tool' has been added to Software Center to allow non-admin users to uninstall the old version before installing Foxit 14. You may need to restart your computer in order for this to populate in your Software Center, and we do recommend restarting between the uninstallation and installation of any programs.

Update - The licensing on MacOS computers has been resolved-- simply re-activating it by logging in with SSO should be successful.

Please note that when updating the Windows version, users will first need to Uninstall the older version. If you are not an administrator on your device and are unable to do so, please contact your campus's IT service desk. Update - There appear to be further issues with the Software Center-installed version of Foxit on MacOS devices specifically, and users may not be able to reactivate even after updating. The NTS Technology Support Services team is aware and investigating!

Update - Users may need to update their copy of Foxit in order to log in and reactivate it-- versions before 14.0 are outdated, and this can be performed by downloading the update from Software Center for users on UA computers, and from the Microsoft/Apple store for users on personal devices.

Monitoring - Foxit has erroneously notified some users of a license change and revocation of access during UAA's annual renewal cycle with the vendor. Users may need to sign into the application again to reactivate, but the product is available and there should be no disruption to the service itself.
