What: UAA IT Services will be updating me.UAA beginning Tuesday, July 22 at 6 AM to 7 AM.

Why: The ELMO software update for me.UAA adds an "eye" button for password and security question fields to toggle the text visibility. Additional enhancements have been added for security and stability.

Result: Starting at 6 AM, me.UAA will be offline for account lookups and password changes. Once the update is complete, me.UAA will be available again.

While me.UAA is unavailable, you can use UA ELMO as a workaround.

Any Issues: If you experience issues looking up your account, or changing your password after me.UAA is updated, don't hesitate to get in touch with the Technical Support Center.

Monitoring - We have received confirmation from a number of users that the VPN is operational from UAS again; OIT Networking will continue to monitor the stability of the service and verify that the resolution is system-wide. Identified - OIT Networking has reported issues with VPN connections to and from UAS with the following comment:

“Due to currently active wildfires south of Fairbanks which have damaged our circuit providers infrastructure, we’re currently experiencing circuit outages on our in-state connectivity between UAF and UAS, as well as between UAF and UAA. Most traffic has automatically re-routed to redundant network paths, however VPN authentication traffic from UAS is not able to traverse these alternate paths, which is leading to customers of VPN service at UAS not being able to log in to that service. We are currently working with our service providers to provision alternate network paths for the affected circuits to bypass the damaged infrastructure.”

We will report on the status of this outage at three-hour intervals. Thank you for your time and patience as we work towards a resolution!

Scheduled - At 11pm tonight, ACS will perform work that will impact UA's 40G Internet circuit. This work is to bypass the fire damaged fiber on the Parks Highway and move that traffic to the fiber along the Richardson Highway. It is anticipated that the interruption will be brief but UA network users can expect interruptions of up to 1 minute. There may be multiple interruptions during the window.
