Microsoft 365 License Changes & Issues
Identified - Microsoft is discontinuing the M365 A1 Plus license, and some users are being transitioned from the M365 A1 "Plus" license to the M365 A1 license. This results in a loss of access to the desktop version of Office 365 applications, but all users should still be able to use the web-based apps at https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps/ (requires UA login).

This change affects Crafts & Trades staff, Adjunct/Temporary Faculty, and Emeritus Faculty members. If you're not a member of these groups and are experiencing issues with the Microsoft Office suite, please reach out to your campus's IT helpdesk!

Microsoft 365 application is not automatically being applied to all new logins.
Update - The issue is persisting. The next update will be when it is resolved.

Identified - We’ve determined that some new University students, faculty and staff cannot access Microsoft 365 applications upon initial login.

This problem may impact multiple users across the system due to a malfunction in automatic licensing.

We’re working to restore Microsoft 365 automatic licensing however during the interim please contact the Technical Support Center at (907) 786-4646.

Receiving an error in Microsoft Office, "Error license is about to expire."
Identified - We are aware of an ongoing issue affecting Microsoft A1 Plus licenses. As a result, some users may temporarily lose access to desktop Office applications, especially Adjunct Faculty and Crafts & Trades employees.
However, you can continue to use all Microsoft 365 online apps (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) through your web browser by opening from OneDrive or going to https://m365.cloud.microsoft/create.

Our team is actively working with Microsoft and organizational leadership to identify and implement a long-term solution. We appreciate your patience while this issue is being addressed.

An update will be posted when it is resolved.

Kaltura LTI for LMS PROD (Blackboard and Canvas) - enable Reach service and Media Stitching tool May 7, 2026 07:30-08:00 AKDT

This change will enable the following tools in Kaltura Application Framework (KAF) LTI for LMS PROD instances (KPC and UAA Blackboard, UAF Canvas).

Kaltura REACH - provides “machine caption and enrich services” on media

Media Stitching - allows multiple media entries (up to five) to be combined into one.

These tools are currently only available to users through Kaltura MediaSpace portals. This will help give parity of tools between Kaltura Media Space, and Kaltura LTI for LMS.

Note: Changes are made in the LMS instance KAF settings, no changes will be made in Blackboard or Canvas

TeamDynamix Email Replies not being Processed [Partial Outage]
Resolved - The UAA ESM team has resolved the issue with the affected components of TDX, and confirmed the fix to be stable.

Monitoring - UAA ESM has applied a workaround and the affected components of TDX appear to be stable. We will continue monitoring the stability of the fix until the end of the business day (5:00PM) today, and you can expect a final update at that time if there is no new information until then.

Investigating - We have received reports that our ticketing system, TeamDynamix (TDX), is currently experiencing issues processing replies to generated emails. The UAA Enterprise Service Management team is currently investigating, and we will be making updates when we open at 8:00am Alaska Time.
