Investigating - We have received reports that UA SSO logins are currently experiencing slowness resulting 'Connection Reset' errors. The OIT PAWS team is currently investigating with OIT Networking and IAM, and we will be making updates at 3-hour intervals.

Repeated attempts to log in do have a chance of working-- this is the only known workaround at this time.

Identified - Microsoft is discontinuing the M365 A1 Plus license, and some users are being transitioned from the M365 A1 "Plus" license to the M365 A1 license. This results in a loss of access to the desktop version of Office 365 applications, but all users should still be able to use the web-based apps at https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps/ (requires UA login).

This change affects Crafts & Trades staff, Adjunct/Temporary Faculty, and Emeritus Faculty members. If you're not a member of these groups and are experiencing issues with the Microsoft Office suite, please reach out to your campus's IT helpdesk!

Identified - We’ve determined that some new University students, faculty and staff cannot access Microsoft 365 applications upon initial login.

This problem may impact multiple users across the system due to a malfunction in automatic licensing.

We’re working to restore Microsoft 365 automatic licensing however during the interim please contact the Technical Support Center at (907) 786-4646.

Identified - We are aware of an ongoing issue affecting Microsoft A1 Plus licenses. As a result, some users may temporarily lose access to desktop Office applications, especially Adjunct Faculty and Crafts & Trades employees.
However, you can continue to use all Microsoft 365 online apps (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) through your web browser by opening from OneDrive or going to https://m365.cloud.microsoft/create.

Our team is actively working with Microsoft and organizational leadership to identify and implement a long-term solution. We appreciate your patience while this issue is being addressed.

Kaltura LTI tool for LMS PROD (Blackboard and Canvas) - enable caption editor tool for Production Instances Mar 1, 2026 06:00-06:15 AKST

This change will enable caption editing tools in Kaltura application Framework (KAF) LTI for LMS PROD instances (KPC and UAA Blackboard, UAF Canvas). This tool will allow users in an LMS to edit captions and extended audio descriptions of their media content, through the Kaltura LTI for LMS tool. This will help give parity of tools between Kaltura Media Space, and Kaltura LTI for LMS, as currently the Caption editor is only available through the KMS web portals.

Note: Changes only need to be made on the Kaltura LTI integration settings, no changes will be made in Blackboard or Canvas

CTC Core Network Upgrade Mar 13, 2026 08:00-12:00 AKDT

OIT Network Operations plans to schedule a building-wide network outage on March 13th to upgrade our core network equipment for the CTC 604 Barnette St building.

In recent years, we have upgraded the network infrastructure for all floors, except for our core router and the first floor. We would like to coordinate a date for this work, which will include a building-wide wireless and wired outage starting at 8 am and potentially extending to 12 pm.

Why: The ELMO software update for me.UAA includes enhancements for security and stability.

Result: Starting at 6 AM, me.UAA will be offline for account lookups and password changes. Once the update is complete, me.UAA will be available again.

While me.UAA is unavailable, you can use UA ELMO as a workaround.
